RwandAir, Rwanda’s national carrier, began operations on 1st December 2002 as RwandAir Express, focusing primarily on passenger air transportation and airport ground handling services at Kigali International Airport. In March 2009, the airline adopted the name “RwandAir,” a trademark that continues to represent the airline today.
Based in Kigali, at the heart of Africa, RwandAir has rapidly become one of the continent’s fastest-growing airlines. The airline operates a modern, state-of-the-art fleet, one of the youngest in Africa, which includes Boeing 737-800NG, Boeing 737-700NG, CRJ900NG, Bombardier Q-400NG, and Airbus A330 aircraft, all configured in dual or triple class.
RwandAir serves 22 cities across Western, Central, Eastern, and Southern Africa, as well as the Middle East, Asia, and Europe. The airline is renowned for its punctuality and excellent on-time performance. It is a member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and holds EASA, IOSA, and ISAGO certifications.
