Ethiopian Airlines Group, in partnership with the Africa Development Bank (AfDB), Dar Al-Handasah Consultants (DAR) and KPMG, convened a diverse group of stakeholders for a project showcase held at the Ethiopian Skylight Hotel. The two-day event, held on 16–17 September 2025, was attended by Ethiopia’s Finance Minister, His Excellency Ahmed Shide, Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO Mr Mesfin Tasew and executives, as well as representatives from financing institutions, contractors, suppliers, investors and other participants.
The showcase presented the project structure, financing strategy and risk allocation framework, outlining the expected roles for Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contractors and suppliers, development finance institutions, multilateral and bilateral development banks, commercial banks, export credit agencies and a broad pool of other stakeholders.
Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO Mr Mesfin Tasew highlighted the importance of the event, noting that the Bishoftu mega international airport project calls for collaboration among multiple stakeholders. He stated that Ethiopian has already partnered with several institutions for initial works and will continue to expand its collaboration with others. The showcase, he added, provides a platform for new partnerships and offers insight into the project and its significance for the African aviation landscape.
