Gambia Invites Bids for New Airport Terminal Under PPP Model

The Government of The Gambia, through the Ministry of Transport, Works and Infrastructure (MOTWI) and the Gambia Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), has issued an invitation to interested bidders to submit proposals for the construction of a new airport terminal and related ancillary facilities.

This infrastructure development project will be implemented at Banjul International Airport under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model involving the design, build, finance, operate, maintain, and transfer (DBFOMT) of the new facilities.

The decision to launch the project is driven by a significant increase in air transport demand, which has resulted in congestion at both the aircraft apron and the passenger terminal. Additional rehabilitation is required for infrastructure such as the runway. The proposed terminal and ancillary facilities aim to enhance operational efficiency, meet international safety and security standards, and strengthen Banjul International Airport’s competitiveness among regional hubs.

Bidders are invited to submit proposals under tender reference: MOTWI/PPP/2024/RFP/04/28. Submissions must be delivered in sealed envelopes to the Directorate of Public-Private Partnership under the Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs, located at Ashobi Store, 2nd Floor, Banjul.

The deadline for submission is 27 June 2025
