Garmin GI 275 EIS Now Available for 7-Cylinder Engine Installations

Addition brings valuable engine monitoring capabilities to vintage aircraft with popular radial engines

  • Now Compatible with 7-Cylinder Engines: The GI 275 EIS can now be installed in select aircraft powered by 7-cylinder engines, including Continental W-670, Wright R-760, and Jacobs R-755/R-915.
  • Designed for Vintage Aircraft: This update is particularly relevant for vintage aircraft owners, with support already confirmed for aircraft such as the Cessna 190/195, WACO YMF, Beech 18 series, and Howard DGA-15 models.
  • Comprehensive Engine Monitoring: The GI 275 EIS offers real-time monitoring of critical engine parameters, including CHT, EGT, fuel and electrical data, oil pressure, and temperature—all on one screen.
  • Touchscreen and Customisation Features: Pilots can interact directly with the high-resolution touchscreen to view detailed data pages, including EGT/CHT, fuel computer, and RPM. Customisable AUX pages add further flexibility.
  • Compact and Panel-Friendly: Its 3.125-inch round form factor allows easy replacement of legacy instruments, minimising panel modification and simplifying installation.
  • Connected Capabilities: Engine data can be streamed to the Garmin Pilot™ App, with automatic uploads to flyGarmin.com for analysis and recordkeeping—supporting both real-time and historical performance tracking.
  • PlaneSync™ Support: The system supports PlaneSync™ technology, enabling remote checks of fuel and systems status, and automatic logging of flight and engine data.

Garmin recently announced the GI 275 engine indication system (EIS) can now interface with and display information for select 7-cylinder engine applications, allowing vintage aircraft owners to better monitor and manage their engine. The GI 275 EIS serves as an all-in-one primary EIS display, providing comprehensive indications including fuel and electrical data, oil pressure and temperature, cylinder head temperature (CHT) and exhaust gas temperature (EGT) monitoring and more. This announcement comes on the heels of Garmin announcing availability of the GFC 500 for Cessna 190/195 aircraft, further solidifying Garmin’s commitment to bringing its top-of-the-line equipment to vintage aircraft.

Lightweight and compact, the GI 275 EIS is a reliable, modern and feature-packed engine indication solution intentionally designed to take advantage of the common 3.125-inch flight instrument size, reducing installation time and preserving the existing aircraft panel. In addition, its vibrant, high-resolution touchscreen display and wide viewing angle offers superior readability in the cockpit. The GI 275 EIS for 7-cylinder engines makes monitoring and managing the engine easier. A bar graph on the Main EIS Page displays and provides clear readouts of CHT and EGT for all seven cylinders.

Additionally, pilots can stream and view EIS data in real-time on the Garmin Pilot™ App, with the data later uploaded automatically to flyGarmin.com for storage and further review. This seamless integration allows owners and operators to get the most out of their aircraft and engine investment by easily reviewing real-time and historical engine data performance at any time. PlaneSync™ technology is also supported, allowing pilots to log flight and engine data1 as well as remotely check fuel and systems status via the Garmin Pilot™ app2.

Shortcuts on the touchscreen enable pilots to quickly access more detail with regard to specific EIS data. With a single touch of the EGT/CHT indications on the main page, the GI 275 EIS quickly switches to the dedicated EGT/CHT page. To more easily access fuel calculations, pilots can touch the fuel gauge from the main page to switch to the fuel computer page. In addition, pilots can touch the RPM area on any page to return to the main page. Pilots also have the ability to customise the AUX Page with information relevant to their flight with user selectable buttons accessed via the touch screen.

The GI 275 EIS for 7-cylinder engines is available now for select aircraft on Garmin’s AML including Continental W-670, Wright R-760, Jacobs R-755, Jacobs R-915 installations on the following aircraft:

  • Cessna 190, 195
  • WACO YMF
  • Beech Model 18A, S18A, 18D, S18D, A18A, SA18A, A18D, SA18D
  • HOWARD DGA-15J, DGA-15W

More models are expected to be added to this list in the future.

The GI 275 includes a two-year warranty and is supported by Garmin’s award-winning aviation support team, which provides 24/7 worldwide technical and warranty support.
