
The Board of Directors of Kenya Airways Plc (KQ) has announced the appointment of Ms. Teresia Mbaika, CBS, Principal Secretary in the State Department for Aviation and Aerospace Development, as a non-executive director of the company with effect from 18 July 2025.
This appointment, made in accordance with the Capital Markets (Securities) (Public Offers, Listing and Disclosures) Regulations 2023 under the Capital Markets Act, designates Ms. Mbaika as the representative of the Ministry of Roads and Transport, replacing Mr. Mohamed Daghar, Principal Secretary, State Department for Transport.
Ms. Mbaika brings extensive experience in corporate governance, resource mobilisation, strategic management, leadership, and public finance management. Her previous roles include serving as Principal Secretary in the State Department for Devolution, director positions at the Nuclear Power and Energy Agency (NuPEA) and the National Environmental Management Authority (NEMA), and Secretary to the National Government Constituency Development Fund Board (NG-CDF), Kaiti Constituency.
She holds a Master of Science in Health Economics and Policy from the University of Nairobi and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health from Kenyatta University.
