Liberia to Launch Five Commercial Aircraft Through Partnership with Korean Firm

Monrovia, Liberia – In a significant development for the West African nation’s aviation landscape, the Ministry of Transport of Liberia has partnered with Korean-based MAKE Group to introduce five commercial aircraft for both domestic and international operations. The initiative is part of a broader strategy to modernise Liberia’s transport infrastructure and improve air connectivity across the country.

Three of the five aircraft will be allocated to domestic routes, aimed at providing reliable air services between countries and enhancing internal mobility. The remaining two will be configured for executive charter services, expanding Liberia’s capacity to serve government, business, and high-value private travel requirements.

The partnership also extends to the upgrade of Roberts International Airport, with MAKE Group committing to assist the government in aligning the facility with International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) standards. These improvements are expected to boost Liberia’s compliance with international aviation norms and increase its appeal as a regional hub for air traffic and investment.

The agreement was formalised during a meeting held at the Ministry of Transport headquarters in Monrovia on 4 June 2025. Government representatives highlighted the importance of the initiative in advancing national transport policy and fostering public-private collaboration for economic development.

With the full support of the Liberian government and the expertise of MAKE Group, the project is set to play a pivotal role in strengthening domestic air travel, stimulating economic growth, and enhancing national infrastructure. This aviation-focused investment signals a renewed commitment to unlocking the potential of Liberia’s transport sector through international partnerships and strategic planning.
