The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has granted approval for the commencement of domestic flight operations by Enugu Air. This development aligns with the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development’s 5-Point Agenda, which supports the growth of indigenous airlines and reflects the Director General of Civil Aviation’s focus on enhancing ease of doing business and advancing sectoral reforms.
Pending the completion of its Air Operator Certificate (AOC), Enugu Air has designated XEJET as its operational partner. In line with this arrangement, XEJET has completed a full variation process to include the EMB 170 aircraft in its Operations Specifications (OpsSpecs), as part of the NCAA’s five-phase certification procedure. This authorisation enables XEJET to operate scheduled commercial flights on behalf of Enugu Air in compliance with existing NCAA regulations.
During this interim period, ticket sales for Enugu Air flights are being managed via the XEJET platform, accessible through a redirect on the Enugu Air official website.
The NCAA has reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a regulatory environment that supports indigenous carriers while ensuring fair competition, safety, security, and consumer protection across Nigeria’s air transport industry.
