The South Africa Council for Space Affairs (SACSA) is a statutory body established in terms of the Space Affairs Act (Act No. 84 of 1993, as amended in 1995 to manage and regulate space affairs of the Republic and implement the space policy in the most efficient and economical manner. The Council is appointed by the Cabinet through the Minister of Trade and Industry (the DTI), who is empowered by the Act to determine the general space policy.
