SSASS Holdings, the African strategic partner of uAvionix Corporation, has announced the successful installation of a second FlightStation ADS-B air traffic surveillance unit at Lanseria International Airport, hosted by National Airways Corporation (NAC).
The FlightStation, mounted on the rooftop of one of NAC’s hangars, is directly connected to the FlightLine backend server via NAC’s secure corporate network. This second installation builds on the first FlightStation commissioned at Lanseria in July 2025 and marks a significant step toward establishing comprehensive airport-wide surface and airspace surveillance coverage.
Deploying multiple FlightStations at a single site ensures wider coverage, improved accuracy, and crucial redundancy in the event of a single FlightStation failure — a critical factor in maintaining uninterrupted situational awareness for both manned and unmanned aircraft movements.
“This second installation reflects our vision for resilient and scalable ADS-B surveillance infrastructure,” said Dean Polley, CEO of SSASS Holdings. “By working with progressive partners like NAC, we are setting a new benchmark for airport safety and operational insight in South Africa. Redundancy is not a luxury in air traffic surveillance — it’s a necessity.”
As the largest general aviation company in Africa and one of the largest of its kind globally, NAC’s participation underscores the aviation industry’s growing recognition of ADS-B as the future of air traffic surveillance.

“NAC has always been at the forefront of aviation innovation, and we recognise that ADS-B is redefining how the world approaches air traffic surveillance,” said JP Fourie, CEO of NAC. “Hosting this FlightStation is part of our commitment to enabling the adoption of cutting-edge technologies in South Africa. As the largest general aviation company in Africa, we believe in leading by example and investing in infrastructure that benefits the entire aviation community.”
The collaboration between SSASS Holdings, NAC, and uAvionix reflects a shared commitment to enhancing safety, efficiency, and technological readiness across the African aviation landscape.
