Sociedade Gestora de Aeroportos, S.A. (SGA) and Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) have formalised the signing of a Sister Airports Cooperation Agreement, marking a structured step towards strengthening strategic partnerships in the aviation sector on the African continent.

The signing of this agreement represents a significant milestone in deepening institutional relations between two leading airport operators, reflecting a shared vision focused on sustainable development, regional integration, and raising operational standards in Africa.

The agreement has the central objective of consolidating cooperation ties and promoting synergies that contribute to economic growth, strengthen air connectivity, and boost business opportunities between Angola and South Africa, with a broad regional impact.

From a strategic standpoint, the agreement is based on key pillars, including the exchange of information and best practices, technical cooperation and institutional capacity development, the joint promotion of airport assets, as well as the definition of governance mechanisms to ensure the effective and monitored implementation of joint initiatives.

The partnership also provides for the creation of conditions for the progressive expansion of areas of cooperation, while safeguarding principles of confidentiality and the protection of intellectual property, which are essential for a solid and sustainable institutional relationship.

For SGA, this agreement forms part of its strategy to position itself as a relevant player in the African airport ecosystem, reinforcing its commitment to infrastructure modernisation, continuous improvement of the passenger experience, and the adoption of international best practices in safety and operational efficiency.

ACSA brings to the partnership its recognised international experience in airport management and development, as well as a strong track record in implementing innovative and sustainable solutions in the sector.

The cooperation established opens new perspectives for the development of air services, boosting passenger and cargo traffic, leveraging investment opportunities in airport infrastructure, and growing non-aeronautical revenues, with a direct impact on the competitiveness of the region’s airports.
