On Friday, 13 February 2026, the headquarters of the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) hosted a landmark ceremony for the national aviation sector: the official presentation of the Air Operator’s Licence to the national airline, Amazone Airlines.
The ceremony took place in the presence of several prominent figures in the aviation industry, including the CEO of Amazone Airlines, Mr Lambert Loko, the Certification Project Manager, Mr Elisée Dansou, and the Director General of ANAC, Mr Karl Legba.
On this occasion, Mr Lambert Loko, CEO of Amazone Airlines, praised the culmination of a demanding process, the result of several months of rigorous work and close collaboration with the regulatory authorities. He explained that this certification ceremony represented a historic milestone for the airline in Benin. This achievement embodied the vision of His Excellency Mr Patrice Talon and his team to provide the country with a national airline capable of strengthening its influence and contributing to the ambitions of the national development programme. He expressed his gratitude to ANAC Benin for its technical and administrative support, while reaffirming the airline’s commitment to strictly adhere to national and international standards in terms of safety, security and service quality. He concluded by wishing the airline and Benin every success.
For his part, Mr Elisée Dansou, Certification Project Manager, reviewed the various steps taken by the airline to obtain this crucial certification. He emphasised the compliance of operational procedures, the qualifications of flight and technical personnel, and the implementation of a safety management system that met current standards.
Mr Karl Legba, Director General of ANAC, stressed the importance of complying with regulatory requirements in developing safe and reliable air transport. He indicated that the issuance of the operating licence attests to Amazone Airlines’ ability to operate in strict compliance with established standards.
