Uganda Airlines And Air India Forge New Interline Partnership, Enhancing Connectivity Between Africa And India

Uganda Airlines, the national carrier of the Republic of Uganda, has announced the signing of a new interline partnership with Air India, India’s leading global airline. The agreement, which took effect on 25 August 2025, seamlessly connects the networks of both carriers, offering passengers greater travel options between Africa, the Indian subcontinent, and beyond.

This strategic partnership allows Uganda Airlines passengers to book a single ticket for seamless travel from Entebbe International Airport (EBB) to more than 25 destinations across India, as well as key international hubs, via Air India’s major gateway in Mumbai (BOM).

The agreement significantly expands Uganda Airlines’ global reach, providing its customers with convenient access to Air India’s extensive network. Travellers flying with Uganda Airlines can now connect onto Air India services to key destinations, including:

Major Indian Cities:

Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore, Delhi, Goa, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Nagpur, Patna, Thiruvananthapuram, Udaipur, Varanasi, Vadodara, and Visakhapatnam.

International Hubs:

Bangkok, Colombo, Dhaka, London Heathrow, and Singapore.

In turn, this partnership opens up the Pearl of Africa to Air India’s wide customer base. Air India passengers from India and across Asia can travel to Mumbai or Dubai with Air India and then connect to Uganda Airlines flights to Entebbe. From there, they can explore Uganda’s renowned wildlife, landscapes, and business opportunities. In addition, Air India guests will be able to connect from Entebbe to destinations in South Africa, Nigeria, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Zambia, and other African countries via Uganda Airlines’ growing African network.

“We are excited to launch this partnership with Air India, an iconic brand in global aviation,” said Jennifer Bamuturaki, Chief Executive Officer, Uganda Airlines. “This interline agreement is a significant step in our strategy to connect Uganda to Africa and beyond. It provides our customers with a smooth, single-ticket travel experience to dozens of new destinations, strengthening economic and cultural ties between our regions.”

“We are happy to partner with Uganda Airlines, enhancing connectivity between India and Africa,” said Nipun Aggarwal, Chief Commercial Officer, Air India. “This partnership not only provides our customers with seamless access to Uganda and an extended network across Africa, but also welcomes Uganda Airlines’ passengers to explore Air India’s extensive routes within India and beyond, fostering stronger economic and cultural ties between our regions.”

This collaboration marks a milestone in strengthening air travel links between Africa and India, offering passengers more convenience, flexibility, and choice. It reflects both airlines’ commitment to enhancing connectivity and promoting closer economic and cultural exchange across continents.
