Eswatini Aviation: Major Investment Opportunities & King Mswati III Airport Expansion

On the sidelines of the inaugural Eswatini Investment Conference, held on 14–15 May 2025, African Pilot Magazine Editor Phillippa Dean spoke with His Excellency, the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Eswatini, Russell Mmiso Dlamini, about the country’s aviation ambitions.

The conversation focused on Eswatini’s strategic plans to upgrade King Mswati III International Airport, including proposals for a new cargo runway, expanded cold storage facilities, and the addition of a taxiway to accommodate more airline operations. In addition, investment opportunities to boost both cargo and passenger capacity, along with the future direction of Eswatini Air.
