Over 45 years of Excellence in Avionics
G1000 Nxi for KingAir 350
Century Avionics had the privilege of working on the popular Beechcraft KingAir 350, known for its versatility & reliability. As part of an extensive refurbishment project that included the exterior and interior as well as engine replacement, the only thing missing from the popular twin-engine turboprop aircraft was the modern glass cockpit system that Century Avionics installed. By installing the Garmin G1000 Nxi Avionics suite they completely enhanced the aircraft’s capabilities and added to the blend of performance, comfort, and operational flexibility of the aircraft.
The G1000 NXi Avionics upgrade suite not only enhances the functionality of your avionics suite, it also is a facelift for your Instrument panel. With outstanding situational awareness, Terrain-, Traffic- and Weather avoidance, Engine management and clear communication it is a comprehensive avionics system that has put Garmin in a league over and above being a General Aviation Avionics manufacturer.
The G1000 Nxi is designed to be easily updated with future enhancements through software upgrades or hardware upgrade replacements. Garmin maintains its retrofit STC’s and AML STC’s with regular and periodic enhancements to keep your avionics abreast with evolving technology and airspace requirements. An industry-leading 2-year warranty on Garmin Avionics provides peace of mind.
In its King Air cockpit configuration, the G1000 NXi upgrade package features a large 15” multifunction display (MFD) in the centre of the panel, flanked by 10.4” primary flight displays (PFDs) at the pilot and copilot positions.
An added enhancement for the King Air upgrade is the Lumatech LED Annunciation panels. Luma’s LT-4500 Series is a two-panel set installed by STC on King Air F90/200/300/B300 plus 1900C and 1900D models as well as the single 45-station solution for the C90 (LJ-1032 & newer). Each panel is a one-for-one drop-in replacement with plug-and-play functionality straight out of the box. They’ve become very popular with G1000 upgrade projects but are equally compatible with ProLine 21, Garmin 600/700 Series, and older legacy configurations as well.
The G1000 Nxi offers full flight management system (FMS) capabilities in an RVSM-capable installation, integrating all primary flight, navigation, weather, terrain, traffic, radio frequency, engine and fuel data readouts in a user-friendly pilot interface format that makes for clearer, simpler and more intuitive operation.
G1000 NXi integrates many components which eliminates so much extra wiring. The weight saving provides for more fuel or luggage and real operational cost-saving advantages for your King Air.
The G1000 NXi integrated panel for your King Air package includes the following – The Garmin GWX 75 Solid state colour radar displays more colour intervals than traditional four-color radars, the Doppler-enabled GWX 75 radar helps take the guesswork out of real-time weather tracking and analysis.
The Garmin GSU 75B ADAHRS plays a critical role by providing essential data for navigation, autopilot control, and overall flight management, contributing to enhanced safety and operational efficiency.
The GTX 3000 or GTX-345R/335R Mode S ES or ADSB In/Out remote transponders feature robust capabilities like ADS-B “Out” transmission and TCAS II/ACAS II compatibility.
The GFC 700, a revolutionary 3-axis, fully digital, dual-channel, fail-passive Automatic Flight Control System (AFCS) represents a significant advancement in aircraft automation technology, providing enhanced flight control capabilities and contributing to improved safety, efficiency, and pilot workload management.
The GMC 710 is the dedicated autopilot controller designed to interface with Garmin’s GFC 700 autopilot system. It enhances pilot control and automation capabilities providing precise and reliable management of autopilot functions for safe and efficient flight operations.
The GRA 5500 Radar Altimeter represents the latest and most accurate technology available in radar altimeters. While being so accurate it can serve as an integral part of your Class A TAWS, TCAS II or ILS solution.
The GMA 1360D Audio Panel, Intercom is a versatile and essential component in the G1000 Nxi suite providing reliable audio management and intercom capabilities to enhance communication and operational efficiency during flight. The Flight Stream 510 Database Concierge wirelessly pairs your tablet using the Gamin Pilot app with the G1000Nxi to add greater flexibility and convenience both inside and outside of the cockpit for database update downloads and flight planning capabilities prior to arriving at the aircraft. Once at the aircraft, the database on the G1000Nxi is updated via the established FS 510 wifi connection. Using information from the terrain database, the G1000 NXi displays use colour alerts when proximity conflicts loom ahead. It comes with Class-B TAWS (Terrain Awareness and Warning System) – or optional Class-A for an extra margin of safety in the air. ChartView™, powered by Jeppesen® electronic approach charts, is also available as an option. For enroute navigation, your choice of georeferenced VFR Sectional or IFR Enroute mapping data is available – along with previews for standard departures and arrivals. A split-screen view is available on the MFD, offering a simultaneous view of maps, charts, checklists, flight plans and more on a single screen.
Optional SVT™ synthetic vision technology enables G1000 NXi to create a “virtual reality” landscape – showing terrain, obstacles, airports, flight plan routes, and/or onboard radar overlays, traffic targets and more – all in computer-generated context on the PFD.
Another optional feature is the Garmin ESP™ (Electronic Stability and Protection) that works with the G1000 NXi flight control system to assist pilots in maintaining the aircraft in a safe, flight-stable condition when the aircraft is being hand-flown – helping to prevent loss of control should disorientation or incapacity occur during flight. Using the servos of the autopilot system, ESP applies a gentle, easily overrideable, corrective force to the yoke when it detects excessive pitch and roll. It also provides underspeed protection (USP) and coupled go-around capabilities.
Built-in engine monitoring and logging capability is included with your G1000 NXi installation to collect engine data to support engine performance, trend and exceedance analysis. This recorded data can be used by your aircraft maintenance organisation to identify early signs of engine performance issues and schedule service to help avoid more costly repairs later.
