Kenya Airways has announced the appointment of four new board members in accordance with the Capital Markets (Securities) (Public Offers, Listing and Disclosures) Regulations 2023 under the Capital Markets Act.
The appointments include Kiprono Kittony, who will serve as Chairman and Independent Non-Executive Director, alongside Chris Diaz and Professor Winnie Iminza Nyamute as Independent Non-Executive Directors, and Dr David Ndii as a Non-Executive Director.
Kittony is a prominent Kenyan business leader and currently serves as chairman of the Nairobi Securities Exchange. He has previously chaired and co-founded several organisations, including CreditInfo CRB Kenya, Mtech Limited, Betway Kenya and Radio Africa Group, and also serves as Vice Chairman of the World Chambers Federation in Paris.
Diaz brings more than three decades of experience in strategy, governance and business development across Africa. He currently serves as Chairman of Adili Group and holds board roles at ALN Africa and the Middle East and Bidco Africa. He has also previously contributed to the aviation sector through roles linked to Kenya Airways and the Kenya Airports Authority.
Nyamute, an Associate Professor at the University of Nairobi, has more than 30 years of experience in finance and accounting. She has played a significant role in corporate governance across several Kenyan institutions, including the Nairobi Securities Exchange, Sameer Africa Plc and Family Bank Limited.
Ndii currently serves as Chairperson of the President’s Council of Economic Advisors and has more than three decades of experience as an economist, strategist and policy adviser. He has held senior roles in economic policy development, including involvement in Kenya’s Economic Recovery Strategy and advisory roles to international financial institutions.
