The Société Aéroportuaire de Lomé-Tokoin (SALT) launched on Monday, 16 December 2024, a “Safety Week”, initiative aimed at strengthening the safety culture at the airport, under the theme: “Safety, a driving force of aviation”.
“In a constantly evolving and highly internationalised aeronautical context, it is important to address productivity and profitability issues to ensure the sustainability of our activities. However, safety remains a priority, and these issues must be taken into account fairly,” said the Deputy Director General of SALT, Michel Makilipè Tchangani.
It is worth noting that SALT regularly organises security emergency simulation exercises to assess coordination between the different actors in the event of an emergency. Over five days, industry stakeholders discussed best practices and issues related to promoting aviation safety and preventing risks. The aim is to strengthen collaboration between professionals, authorities, and local communities while raising awareness of the importance of maintaining strict safety standards.
