In a significant step toward strengthening collaboration and growth within Nigeria’s aviation sector, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Dr Ibrahim Abubakar Kana, recently convened an interactive session with international airline operators and key private sector stakeholders. The meeting forms part of the preparations for the upcoming Nigeria International Air Show, scheduled for December 2025.

The engagement sought to highlight investment opportunities in the aviation industry while advancing public-private partnerships critical to achieving sustainable sectoral growth. The Air Show, driven by private sector initiative and endorsed by government, is expected to showcase Nigeria’s readiness to engage with global aviation players, while positioning the country as a business-friendly destination.
The Federal Government, under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has expressed its commitment to aviation sector development and has welcomed the initiative to host the country’s first-ever air show. The event is anticipated to boost investor confidence and economic activity, while providing a platform for Nigeria to engage with international stakeholders.
Bria Williams, Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria International Air Show, noted that the event aims to bolster the aviation industry, stimulate economic growth, and attract further private sector participation. It will also serve as an opportunity to demonstrate Nigeria’s aviation potential on the global stage.
The air show is expected to contribute towards closing regional connectivity gaps, enhancing intra-African trade, and expanding tourism and investment opportunities. Additionally, the initiative will support the development of aviation infrastructure and foster closer alignment between the financial and aviation sectors.
Among those in attendance at the session were representatives from Value Jet Airline, Air France, Badr Airlines, the Embassy of Morocco, and Turkish Airlines, all of whom pledged support for the shared vision of a successful Nigeria International Air Show in 2025.
