SAA Launches New Route To Gaborone

South African Airways (SAA), has announced the launch of a twice-daily service between Johannesburg and Gaborone, Botswana, commencing Tuesday, 4 November 2025. Bookings for this route have now opened on flysaa.com. This further extends the carrier’s regional reach and connectivity, continuing to provide both business and leisure travellers with convenience and connectivity.

The new schedule, designed to meet demand for direct travel between Johannesburg and Gaborone, includes two daily return flights, seven days a week. The morning service departs Johannesburg at 06:50, arriving in Gaborone at 07:45, with the return flight departing at 08:25 and landing in Johannesburg at 09:25.

The afternoon rotation departs Johannesburg at 16:25, arriving in Gaborone at 17:20, with the return leg departing at 18:00 and arriving in Johannesburg at 19:00.

Group CEO, Prof John Lamola says, “The launch of this route not only strengthens the cultural and economic ties between Botswana and South Africa but also reinforces SAA’s position as a premium network carrier. It reflects our commitment to connecting travellers across SAA’s regional and intercontinental networks and those destinations of our Star Alliance and codeshare partners.”

“SAA remains focused on expanding its footprint across the continent, delivering reliable, customer-centric service. The addition of Gaborone to our network is a clear demonstration of our dedication to supporting regional integration, tourism, and inclusive economic growth,” added Lamola.
