Air Cairo has taken delivery of an Airbus A320-251N, bringing its fleet to 40 aircraft as the Egyptian carrier continues its fleet modernisation and international expansion programme.

The A320neo will support plans to expand Air Cairo’s destination network and increase available capacity as the airline develops its presence in regional and international markets.

The newly delivered aircraft features the Airbus Airspace Cabin, including XL overhead bins offering greater storage capacity than conventional compartments. It is also fitted with the latest generation of Recaro seats.

Air Cairo said the aircraft would contribute to its plans to increase capacity and respond to growing air travel demand while strengthening connectivity between Egypt and regional and international markets.

The airline is pursuing its fleet development alongside the opening of new markets, expansion of its destination network and increased frequencies on existing routes.

According to Air Cairo, the introduction of new-generation aircraft has reduced the average age of its fleet to 5.5 years, which it described as the youngest fleet in Africa and the Middle East.

The carrier said continued investment in newer aircraft and onboard equipment forms part of its fleet modernisation strategy, with the A320neo intended to support operational efficiency as well as improvements to passenger comfort and service.

Air Cairo plans to continue expanding internationally, including accessing new markets and destinations, while developing a broader network from Egypt.
