Air Traffic and Navigation Services (ATNS) SOC Ltd reports that it has made significant progress in maintaining Instrument Flight Procedures. The company remains committed to ensuring safety in air traffic management, including the timely completion of its Flight Procedure Maintenance Programme.
During March and April 2025, ATNS submitted all nine priority approach procedures for OR Tambo International Airport (ORTIA), King Shaka International Airport (KSIA), Chief Dawid Stuurman Airport, and King Phalo Airport to the South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA). Two of these procedures have already been approved, with the remaining seven currently undergoing ground validation.
While steady progress has been maintained, ATNS acknowledges that additional work remains, particularly in maintaining the arrival and departure procedures for KSIA and Cape Town International Airport. In addition, ATNS confirms that all 19 priority arrival and departure procedures for ORTIA have been submitted and approved by the SACAA. The publication of six of these procedures will become effective on 15 May 2025, with the remainder becoming effective from June 2025 onwards.
Through its international Air Traffic Control Officer (ATCO) headhunting initiative, ATNS has recruited 18 ATCOs. Seventeen have accepted employment, with one offer still under negotiation.
ATNS remains committed to providing periodic and timely updates to all stakeholders, ensuring transparency and continuous improvement in service delivery.
