Nigerian defence technology company Babasky Technologies has demonstrated a counter-unmanned aerial system designed to detect, locate and neutralise unauthorised drones within an operational radius of up to eight kilometres.
The system was recently demonstrated in Abuja in the presence of officials and delegations from the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Air Force and intelligence stakeholders.
Developed by Babasky Technologies, the defence subsidiary of UNICCON Group, the system combines drone detection, operator geolocation and radio-frequency jamming within a single counter-UAS platform.

The system is designed to detect small and medium multirotor unmanned aircraft at distances of up to eight kilometres. It can also identify the geographical coordinates of ground operators controlling detected aircraft.
Software incorporated into the platform can establish electronic no-fly zones around protected areas, while directional radio-frequency jamming is used to disrupt the control and telemetry links of unauthorised drones entering the designated perimeter.
During the demonstration, the system detected incoming unmanned aircraft, located their operators and applied radio-frequency jamming intended to force the aircraft down or initiate emergency landing procedures.
The mobile platform integrates detection radar, radio-frequency spectrum analysis and electronic countermeasures. Babasky is positioning the system for applications including the protection of military facilities, government installations, oil infrastructure and other sensitive sites.
The counter-UAS system follows the company’s recent introduction of the UNIKAM-FO1, a fibre-optic-guided loitering munition designed to operate in environments affected by electronic warfare and radio-frequency jamming.
