Boeing and Ethiopian Airlines have expanded their 787 Landing Gear Exchange Program agreement to include 10 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners operated by the carrier.
Announced during Farnborough International Airshow 2026, the agreement extends support already in place for 19 Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 787-8s. Boeing will guarantee the availability of certified, ready-to-install landing gear shipsets from its global inventory when replacement or overhaul is required.
Under the programme, Boeing maintains a dedicated landing gear pool and manages the parts, engineering and technical resources associated with each exchange. Loaner landing gear and parts can also be provided during unexpected aircraft-on-ground situations. According to Boeing, the arrangement is intended to simplify maintenance scheduling, reduce inventory requirements and limit logistics and supply-chain risks.
The two companies have also renewed their Tailored Parts Package agreement, providing Ethiopian Airlines with access to Boeing’s wider parts inventory network for its fleet maintenance requirements. The value, duration and detailed scope of the agreements were not disclosed.
