Garmin Aviation has launched AXIS, described as a new generation of integrated flight display, and Bristell is working to introduce it across its aircraft range.

AXIS integrates the NAV/COMM radio and audio panel into the display, allowing one screen to replace what would otherwise be a full radio stack. Bristell said this would result in a cleaner panel while retaining a Garmin interface familiar to pilots who use the Garmin G3X Touch currently fitted by the manufacturer. The system also includes SafeTaxi, a dedicated emergency button and enhanced synthetic vision.

Planned availability

  • Classic line — planned availability from Q4 2026.
  • B23 family — planned availability from Q2 2027.

Both timelines are subject to certification for each model and market. Bristell said it would provide exact configurations and pricing as each step is confirmed.

CONTINENTAL AEROSPACE TECHNOLOGIES™

For the certified B23 family, AXIS could also allow a built-in IFR GPS, subject to approval for the specific configuration.

AXIS Trainer app

Garmin’s free AXIS Trainer app for iPad allows users to explore the interface and practise using the display.

Bristell described AXIS as the next step in its avionics offering and said further information would follow.
