Paul Hastings Advises Vision Invest on Its Acquisition of Minority Stake in New Sustainable Aviation Fuel Platform

Paul Hastings LLP advised Vision Invest on its acquisition of a significant minority stake in a new sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) platform that aims to accelerate the decarbonisation of the global aviation sector. The other investors in the platform are Green Sky Capital and Al Mana.

The platform’s inaugural SAF project is located in Egypt, with Shell contracted to purchase 100% of the offtake and Axens providing technology solutions. Leveraging Egypt’s strategic location and growing aviation market, the inaugural project is one of the Middle East and Africa’s largest planned SAF developments and is expected to play a central role in supporting both regional and international airlines in meeting their emissions reduction commitments.

Building on this foundation, the platform intends to expand its footprint, targeting jurisdictions with supportive regulatory environments, strong renewable resources and rapidly growing aviation demand. The investment will help advance the development of a diversified pipeline of SAF production facilities, contributing to global efforts to reduce lifecycle aviation emissions.

Energy & Infrastructure partner Ibaad Hakim led the Paul Hastings team, which also included partner Stefan Mrozinski and senior associate Eoin Coffey on the corporate workstream, as well as senior associates Charles Anderson, Yulia Turkina and Elliott Hunt on the projects workstream.
