ACSA Introduces New Baggage Tracking Feature to Enhance Passenger Experience

ACSA adds real-time baggage tracking to its mobile app, allowing passengers to monitor checked-in bags through every stage of handling and supporting the company’s digital transformation.

Airports Company South Africa has introduced a real-time baggage tracking feature on its mobile app, giving passengers greater visibility and convenience during their journeys. The new function allows travellers to track their checked-in bags from the moment they are handed over at check-in through each stage of handling until loading onto the aircraft. By entering a booking reference and flight date, users can view the status of their baggage directly within the app.

The upgrade reflects ACSA’s commitment to enhancing the passenger experience through technology-driven solutions that improve transparency, efficiency and confidence in baggage handling. According to Interim Chief Information Officer Sello Makhubela, the enhancement strengthens trust in operational processes and forms part of the organisation’s broader digital transformation. The updated ACSA Mobile App, including the baggage tracking feature, is available from 18 November 2025 on the Apple App Store, Google Play Store and Huawei AppGallery.
