Aero Partner Africa will represent Robinson across seven Southern African markets, with demonstration aircraft already ordered and plans covering parts, maintenance coordination, technical support and training assistance.
Aero Partner Africa has been appointed as an authorised Robinson Helicopter Company dealer for Southern Africa, covering new and pre-owned Robinson helicopters across the region.
The company says the appointment establishes South Africa’s first new Robinson dealership in more than 30 years. The dealership will cover the R22 Beta II, R44 series and R66 Turbine, as well as the R88, which remains under development.
Following the announcement, African Pilot asked Aero Partner Africa for more detail on the territory it will cover, the support planned for operators and where it expects demand for Robinson helicopters to develop.
Seven Southern African Markets
Aero Partner Africa said its primary focus will cover South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Zambia and Eswatini. The company also plans to support Robinson operators in adjacent markets where regional assistance is required.
Dealership at a Glance

- Demo aircraft: Orders have already been placed
- Parts: Genuine Robinson spares and components
- Maintenance: Coordination with approved maintenance organisations

- Training: Pilot and technical training support through recognised Robinson channels
*The R88 remains under development.
The dealership is intended to cover more than the aircraft sale itself. Aero Partner Africa told African Pilot that it is being structured around longer-term support for owners and operators.
Parts support will include genuine Robinson spares and components, with an emphasis on availability and lead-time management.
Maintenance support will initially involve coordination with approved maintenance organisations. Aero Partner Africa also plans over time to develop additional regional maintenance capability aligned with Robinson standards.
For technical matters, the dealership will provide operators with a local point of contact for queries, service bulletins and other product-support matters requiring liaison with Robinson.
Pilot and technical training will be facilitated through recognised Robinson training channels.
Demonstration Aircraft Already Ordered
Aero Partner Africa has already placed orders for demonstration aircraft and plans to keep Robinson helicopters available locally for customer demonstrations and evaluation.
Klara Fouché did not specify which models have been ordered or when the demonstration aircraft are expected to arrive.
Aero Partner Africa is also in discussions with prospective customers, including private owners, training organisations and operators in the conservation and tourism sectors. Fouché said a number of these discussions are at an advanced stage, with the first formal orders and deliveries under the new dealership structure expected to be confirmed in the near term.
Where Aero Partner Africa Expects Demand
The R44 and R66 are expected to attract much of the regional interest, while Aero Partner Africa still sees a role for the R22 in helicopter training.
Model interest
R22 Beta II: Ab-initio helicopter training and other training applications where operating cost is a major consideration
R44 series: Training, private ownership and light commercial operations
R66 Turbine: Tourism, utility and corporate operations requiring turbine performance, additional range and payload
R88: Part of the dealership’s future Robinson offering; the aircraft remains under development
Beyond private ownership and training, the company sees opportunities for Robinson helicopters in conservation and wildlife management, tourism and scenic operations, survey and patrol work, and infrastructure inspection.
Aero Partner Africa identified these sectors as potential areas of demand. The extent of future uptake under the new dealership will become clearer as customer orders are confirmed.
Aero Partner Africa
Aero Partner Africa is a new company co-founded by Klara Fouché of Aero Partner and Nico Jacobs of NicAir.
Under the new structure, Aero Partner Africa will act as the primary commercial and customer-relationship interface for Robinson sales and support across its Southern African territory.
The company intends to remain involved from the initial enquiry and aircraft selection process through delivery, induction, training and ongoing support.
Aero Partner Africa expects the regional light-helicopter market to grow steadily, with the R22, R44 and R66 serving different parts of the private, training and commercial market. Its plans place particular emphasis on making parts, technical assistance, maintenance coordination and training support more accessible to operators in the region.
