The African Development Bank (AfDB) has issued a Request for Expressions of Interest for consulting services for the Bishoftu International Airport Project in Ethiopia.
Ethiopian Airlines Group (EAG), as Project Sponsor, is developing the new Bishoftu International Airport, a greenfield hub airport located 40km southeast of Addis Ababa. The airport is planned to accommodate 60 million passengers annually in its initial phase, with capacity expected to scale up to 110 million passengers at full development.
AfDB intends to appoint an independent consulting firm as the Lenders’ Financial Model Auditor (LFMA) to support lenders’ due diligence. The scope includes an independent review of the financial model and a tax review of the project. AfDB, acting as Initial Mandated Lead Arranger (IMLA), alongside a Co-Mandated Lead Arranger (Co-MLA), will coordinate the due diligence process. The LFMA will report directly to AfDB and Co-MLA and will owe a duty of care to all lenders participating in the syndicate.
Interested firms are required to submit statements of capability and relevant experience, including details of similar assignments, regional experience, and available skills. Eligibility and selection will follow AfDB’s Rules and Procedures for the use of Consultants.
Expressions of interest must be submitted by 6 May 2026 at 17:00 GMT.
