The Board of Directors of Air Mauritius Limited met on 29 October 2026 and approved the audited annual financial statements for the financial year 2025/2026.
The financial results show a profit of EUR 78.63 million (MUR 4.1 billion), which includes remeasurement of provisions relating to the return of aircraft, revenue recognition of unredeemed and expired vouchers issued during the COVID-19 pandemic, and an unrealised gain on revaluation of monetary assets and liabilities. The company also benefited from favourable fuel prices and a strong euro during the period.
Shareholders’ equity is now positive at EUR 26.0 million, having been in deficit since the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Board of Directors welcomed the results but urged caution, given the persisting high fuel prices in 2026/2027, which cannot be fully recovered from airfares.
CEO Andre Viljoen said: “Whilst the results give us hope, we cannot afford to relax. The caution urged by our Board is justified, as the Euro exchange rate and fuel prices in 2025/2026 worked for us. We certainly cannot count on this in 2026/2027. Our 10 “Future-Fit Game Changer” Strategies are designed to perfect our fundamentals, develop remarkable service, improve employee engagement and collaboration, and redefine the aircraft fleet required for our network. Our cost control office is watching every single Euro spent to ensure we maximise value across the whole organisation. Simultaneously, our revenue recapture initiatives, including steps to address lower passenger demand, are being implemented to ensure that revenue improvements match our cost inflation. We now have to relentlessly push through with the assistance of our Transformation Office.”
