Senegal’s national flag carrier, Air Sénégal, is exploring the expansion of its regional network to Liberia, with proposed flight operations targeting a launch in the first or second quarter of 2027.

The announcement follows bilateral discussions between Tidiane Ndiaye, Chief Executive Officer of Air Sénégal, and Hon. Julius D. Dennis, Jr., Director General of the Liberia Civil Aviation Authority (LCAA).

The proposed multi-leg service will connect Dakar’s Blaise Diagne International Airport (DSS) to Roberts International Airport (ROB) in Monrovia, with planned intermediate stops in Conakry, Guinea, and Freetown, Sierra Leone. Once operational, the route will offer an essential travel link across Upper South Guinea and West Africa, driving trade, tourism, and regional economic integration.

“Connecting our nations through reliable air transport is vital for regional cohesion and growth,” said Hon. Julius D. Dennis, Jr., Director General of the LCAA. “We welcome Air Sénégal’s initiative and look forward to working closely with their executive team to satisfy regulatory requirements and facilitate a seamless start to operations.”

The expansion aligns with broader efforts across the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) to enhance intra-regional air mobility, reduce transit times, and support the growth of the Single African Air Transport Market (SAATM). Technical teams from both Air Sénégal and the LCAA will continue operational assessments and bilateral safety evaluations over the coming months to finalise the route schedule and launch timeline.
