Air Zimbabwe Reports 42.6% Revenue Growth and a Narrower 2024 Loss at Its Fourth AGM

Air Zimbabwe’s revenue rose 42.6% to US$10.74 million in 2024 and its net loss narrowed 31.7% to US$7.12 million, according to audited accounts considered at the airline’s fourth Annual General Meeting in Harare on 30 September 2026. The airline carried 33,676 passengers, and cargo volumes grew 59.4%.

On 30 September 2026, Transport and Infrastructural Development Deputy Minister J.K. Sacco officiated at Air Zimbabwe’s 4th Annual General Meeting (AGM), held at Rainbow Towers in Harare, where the airline’s audited financial statements for the year ended 31 December 2024 were considered.

The Deputy Minister highlighted progress in strengthening corporate governance and financial accountability at the national airline. He noted that revenue increased by 42.6%, from US$7.54 million to US$10.74 million, while the net loss declined by 31.7%, from US$10.44 million to US$7.12 million.

He also highlighted growth in passenger and cargo operations, with Air Zimbabwe carrying 33,676 passengers in 2024, while cargo volumes increased by 59.4%, including growth of more than 101% in regional cargo.

Sacco urged the Board and Management to sustain governance reforms while accelerating the airline’s commercial turnaround. He emphasised the need to improve fleet utilisation, route performance and customer service, while strengthening strategic partnerships to enhance operational efficiency and financial sustainability.

He further noted Air Zimbabwe’s important role in strengthening national connectivity, promoting tourism, facilitating trade and attracting investment. He reaffirmed Government’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for the growth and development of the aviation sector.

The AGM was attended by Air Zimbabwe’s Board and Management, as well as members of the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Transport and Infrastructural Development, represented by T. Karimazindo, alongside various stakeholders.
