China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) has signed contracts for the renovation and expansion of two major airports in Kyrgyzstan: Manas Airport in Bishkek, the capital, and Osh Airport, the largest city in southern Kyrgyzstan. These projects, funded by the Kyrgyz government, represent CRBC’s first airport construction projects in Central Asia.
Key Details:
- Manas Airport:
- Renovation of a 4,200-meter runway and 4,300-meter taxiway.
- Construction of a new 1,400-meter taxiway, two new de-icing pads, and expanded aprons.
- Upgrading of navigation lighting from Class II to Class III.
- Osh Airport:
- Repair and reinforcement of airport pavements.
- Upgrading of the navigation lighting system.
These projects aim to enhance Kyrgyzstan’s air transport capacity, boost economic development around the airports, improve safety and operational efficiency, and provide greater convenience for passengers.
