EgyptAir Maintenance & Engineering was awarded AS9110 Aerospace Standard quality certification during the 2026 El Alamein International Airshow on 8 September.
The certificate was presented to EgyptAir Maintenance & Engineering Chairman and CEO Eng. Mohamed Samy by AFNOR UK Ltd Managing Director Fabienne Bonin Bree, following audits conducted by the French standardisation body AFNOR.
The presentation was attended by Egypt’s Minister of Civil Aviation Dr Sameh El-Hefny, French Minister of Transport Philippe Tabarot, French Ambassador to Egypt Eric Chevallier and EgyptAir Holding Chairman and CEO Capt. Ahmed Adel.
Building on ISO 9001:2015, the AS9110 standard includes requirements specifically applicable to aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul operations, including risk management, maintenance reliability and technical qualifications.
EgyptAir Maintenance & Engineering said it achieved compliance with zero audit findings and will be listed in the Online Aerospace Supplier Information System (OASIS) database.
El-Hefny said the certification reflected Egypt’s aviation capabilities and supported the development of the country’s civil aviation sector in line with international standards. He said it could also strengthen Egypt’s position in the regional aviation services market and support further partnerships and investment.
Adel said the certification demonstrated the company’s commitment to safety and quality standards within the Egyptian civil aviation sector.
Samy said passing the audit across the company’s facilities demonstrated the capability of its technical teams and could support further commercial opportunities in the international MRO market.
