African Pilot photographed the aircraft, registered ZS-GAC, arriving at OR Tambo International Airport on Saturday, 1 August, the date on which Fastjet said it would enter service. The A320 will operate primarily between Harare and Johannesburg and between Victoria Falls and Johannesburg during the peak travel period.

Alongside the additional capacity, Fastjet has introduced a Business Premium product aboard the A320. The offering includes extra-wide seats at the front of the aircraft, curated menu options, a full bar service at selected times, access to business-class lounges and a combined baggage allowance of 46 kg.

Donahue Cortes, Business Chief Executive and Country Head of Fastjet Zimbabwe, said, “Beyond supporting our immediate operational requirements, this deployment is an important strategic step. It allows us to evaluate the Airbus A320 within our network as part of our longer-term fleet development strategy. Subject to the outcome of this trial, we see the Airbus A320 becoming a permanent part of the fastjet Zimbabwe fleet from next year, supporting our continued growth and strengthening connectivity between Zimbabwe and the region.”

Vivian Ruwuya, Chief Commercial Officer of Fastjet Zimbabwe, said, “We are confident the product will resonate with business travellers, leisure guests seeking a premium experience, and customers who value greater comfort and personalised service.”

Business Premium bookings are available through Fastjet’s website, ticket offices, travel agents and other booking platforms.
