The West African Development Bank (BOAD) has reported strong growth in its financial indicators, approving XOF501.568 billion in funding and launching its new strategic plan, “Djoliba… The Next Step”.
During its ordinary meeting held on 25–26 March 2026, the Board of Directors reviewed and approved several key matters related to the Bank’s institutional operations. A total of 17 new projects were approved, bringing cumulative BOAD financing to XOF10,387.2 billion since the commencement of operations in 1976.
Among the approved projects is the Air Côte d’Ivoire Aircraft Maintenance Centre (MRO) in Abidjan. The project involves the construction of a regional aircraft maintenance facility to support Air Côte d’Ivoire’s fleet, as well as aircraft operated by airlines across West and Central Africa.
The approved financing for the MRO project currently stands at XOF35 billion.
