Jambojet has resumed its daily direct Nairobi–Entebbe service, with the first flight touching down at Entebbe International Airport at 11:15 on 1 October 2026. The Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) said the flight was received by Minister of Works and Transport Fred Byamukama and welcomed with a water gun salute.

JamboJet launches with one daily flight, indicating that frequencies could increase as demand grows. The airline has also highlighted its low-cost proposition and focus on reliable, direct travel.

Jambojet’s chief finance officer, speaking on behalf of chief executive Karanja Ndegwa, said the airline returns with a strengthened network and a proposition of affordable fares, direct connectivity and reliable service for travellers between Uganda and Kenya.

Jambojet’s return also makes it the 21st international air operator at Entebbe, further expanding passenger choice and contributing to the continued growth of Uganda’s international air transport sector.

Uganda has concluded Bilateral Air Services Agreements, with 64 countries. BASAs provide the legal framework for international air services between Uganda and partner states, including the designation of airlines, traffic rights and routes, facilitating the expansion of international air connectivity.

UCAA Director General Fred K. Bamwesigye described Jambojet’s return as a vote of confidence in Uganda’s air transport system and commended Uganda’s aviation safety and security record. He called on Jambojet and all operators at Entebbe to remain committed to strict safety and security protocols and to deliver efficient services to travellers.
