The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) has confirmed an aircraft incident that occurred on Friday, 20 March 2026, at approximately 21:25 at Wilson Airport.
An aircraft, registration 5Y-BXI, operating a scheduled flight from Kisumu to Wilson Airport, experienced a hard landing upon arrival and subsequently veered off the runway.
There were 39 passengers on board at the time of the incident. No injuries have been reported.
Emergency response procedures were activated immediately. The site has been cordoned off to allow investigations by the Aircraft Accident Investigations Department (AAID) in line with established aviation safety protocols.
KCAA, in collaboration with relevant agencies, is implementing the necessary measures to uphold safety and regulatory standards.
