Kenya Airways to Resume Direct Flights to Luanda in Two Months

Kenya Airways is set to resume direct flights to Luanda, Angola, by March 2025 following discussions between Presidents William Ruto and João Lourenço. Angola plans to waive visa requirements for Kenyan travellers, strengthening bilateral ties and regional cooperation.

This was announced after a meeting between Presidents William Ruto and João Lourenço of Angola at the Angolan presidential palace in Luanda on Wednesday 8 January 2025. 

Kenya and Angola will work together to ensure Kenya Airways resumes direct flights to Luanda, Angola, beginning in March this year. Additionally, Angola will work towards waiving visa requirements for Kenyans visiting the country, reciprocating Kenya’s earlier gesture.

The two leaders also discussed pertinent issues in the African continent, including peace in the Great Lakes region, institutional reforms of the African Union, and the election of the chairperson of the African Union Commission next month.
