Ethiopian Airlines Group Invites Restricted Bids for Bird Strike and Wildlife Hazard Consultancy at Bishoftu International Airport

Ethiopian Airlines Group has issued Bid Announcement No. SSNT-T638 inviting qualified firms to bid for a bird strike, wildlife hazard and waterbody risk assessment and management consultancy service for Bishoftu International Airport at Bishoftu, Ethiopia.

The procurement is a Restricted International Competitive Bid, open to all short-listed bidders as specified in the bidding documents. The consultancy is to be completed within 12 months of the commencement of the services, and evaluation will be carried out in two stages, covering the technical and financial bids of the participating bidders.

The invitation is open to qualified Category 1 international firms. Firms must hold a valid trade licence, a business organisation registration certificate as a Category 1 international firm from an authorised body, a valid tax clearance certificate and a valid Taxpayer Registration Certificate.

Bids must be delivered on or before 9 October 2026 at 3:00pm. The technical bid and bid security will be opened at the Ethiopian Airlines Group head office in Addis Ababa, with the financial bid opened on the same day at 3:30pm, whether or not bidders or their representatives attend.

Each bidder must submit a bid security of US$20,000 in the name of “Ethiopian Airlines Group”, sealed in a separate envelope marked “Bid Security”, together with its bid proposal. The security may take the form of a CPO or an unconditional bank guarantee from a recognised local bank, with a verified countersignature from the National Bank of Ethiopia and payable on first demand. Insurance guarantees will not be accepted. Bids must remain valid for 120 calendar days after tender opening, and the group may ask bidders to extend that period.

Bids must be submitted in four envelopes sealed in an outer envelope. The qualification application, consisting of the technical offer, is submitted as an original and a copy in separate envelopes marked “Technical Proposal Original or Copy”, which are sealed in a larger envelope marked “Technical Proposal”. The financial document follows the same arrangement, with envelopes marked “Financial Offer Original or Copy” and a larger envelope marked “Financial Offer”, and must include the payment term and breakdown sheet on the attached form.
