SAA Welcomes Cabinet Decision to Commence Process to Identify Strategic Equity Partner

South African Airways (SAA) acknowledges Cabinet’s decision to initiate a transparent, competitive, and appropriately governed process to identify a Strategic Equity Partner (SEP) for SAA SOC Limited.

The SAA Board of Directors noted that the process represents an important strategic milestone in supporting SAA’s long-term sustainability, financial resilience, and growth ambitions.

SAA reaffirms its unwavering commitment to supporting this shareholder-led process and will continue to work closely with the relevant authorities, within the applicable governance frameworks, to ensure the integrity and successful execution of the process.

The Board further affirmed that SAA remains firmly focused on advancing its strategic priorities, strengthening operational and commercial performance, enhancing customer value, and positioning the airline as a sustainable, competitive national carrier of choice.

As the identification and selection of the Strategic Equity Partner (SEP) is being led by the Department of Transport in its capacity as shareholder, SAA will not provide further comment on any related developments while the process is underway.
