The South African Civil Aviation Authority’s Strategic Plan for 2025–2030 has been tabled by the Minister of Transport. The plan outlines how the Authority will contribute towards achieving the government’s broader priorities, focusing on strengthening compliance with international standards set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), continuously reviewing the regulatory framework to remain adaptive to a changing aviation landscape, and upholding the rule of law through rigorous enforcement to maintain South Africa’s exemplary aviation safety and security record.
A further priority is the continued development of a pipeline of aviation professionals, aimed at addressing the nation’s skills shortage within the sector. These objectives are closely aligned with the government’s vision of fostering sustainable and inclusive economic growth, while building a capable, ethical, and developmental state.
To realise these goals, the Authority has committed to fostering a culture of accountability, promoting ethical decision-making, upholding public trust, filling critical vacancies, and maintaining positive audit outcomes.
