According to a bulletin from the Department of Defence, the current Chief of the Air Force (CAF), General W.S. Mbambo, is set to retire on 31 March 2026.
The Department of Defence has announced that Major General M.C. Moatshe will be appointed and substantively promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General as Chief of the South African Air Force, effective 1 April 2026.
