Straten Consulting Services Limited has announced the opening of Straten CSL (Pty) Ltd in Cape Town, South Africa, establishing a regional base to support renewable energy developers and the wider aviation sector.

The company is working with Wesgro as it enters the southern African market. Its Cape Town base will bring international aviation expertise to projects requiring practical advice on the interaction between development, airspace and aviation operations.

The immediate focus will be aeronautical studies for wind farms and glint and glare assessments for solar developments. These services help developers identify aviation constraints, assess their operational significance and establish proportionate mitigation where required.

Straten CSL will also continue supporting Cape Winelands Airport and extend its services to airports, air navigation service providers, infrastructure developers and public authorities across the region.

John van Hoogstraten, Managing Director and Founder of Straten CSL, said, “Establishing our Cape Town base is an important milestone for Straten CSL and a particularly meaningful step for me, having started my aviation career in South Africa.

“We are excited to be working with Wesgro as we enter the southern African market. Our immediate priority is to help renewable energy developers understand and address aviation requirements through clear technical analysis and practical solutions.

“We also look forward to continuing our support for Cape Winelands Airport and contributing to the wider aviation market. Our aim is to support safe aviation operations while helping worthwhile development move forward.”
