TAAG Updates Board Structure as Transformation Programme Continues

TAAG Angola Airlines has updated the composition of its Board of Directors following a unanimous decision by the airline’s shareholders.

The Ministry of Transport said the changes form part of measures to strengthen corporate governance and consolidate TAAG’s ongoing Transformation Programme. The update comes as the airline continues to implement initiatives focused on operational modernisation, optimisation of internal processes, improved customer experience, and stronger economic and financial sustainability.

As part of the changes, Jaime Miguel Ferreira Carneiro has been appointed Chairman of the Executive Committee. Joelson da Silva de Sá e Vasconcelos has been appointed Executive Director responsible for the Commercial area, while Sandro da Cunha Pereira Africano has been appointed Executive Director responsible for the Financial area.

Maria Elília Leitão Luís Ricardo and Cláudia Cristina Silva Gomes Pires Pinto Palege Jasse have also been appointed as Non-Executive Directors, strengthening the diversity of skills and the strategic oversight capacity of the board.

Clóvis Rosa remains Chairman of the Board of Directors. Iuri Guerra Neto, Executive Director responsible for Operations; Misayely Celestino Isaac Abias, responsible for Maintenance and Engineering; and Neide do Rosário Pinto Teixeira, responsible for Legal and Human Resources, also remain in their positions. Their continued roles are intended to ensure management continuity across operational and support areas.

Non-Executive Directors Adiron Alberto, Mónica Cristino and Manuel Tavares also remain in their positions.

According to the Ministry of Transport, the updated governance structure forms part of a new phase in the consolidation of TAAG’s transformation. The focus remains on strengthening operational efficiency, improving performance indicators, ensuring economic and financial sustainability, and reinforcing the company’s competitive position in the aviation market.

TAAG thanked the outgoing directors for their professionalism, dedication and contribution, and expressed confidence in the updated leadership team’s ability to continue the airline’s process of transformation, growth and affirmation as a benchmark in African aviation.
