ValueJet has taken delivery of the first of three Boeing 737NG aircraft as the Nigerian airline increases capacity on its domestic network and prepares for further regional expansion.
The first aircraft, Boeing 737-800 5N-CFZ, was delivered to ValueJet at Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal 2 (MMA2) in Lagos on Wednesday, 5 August 2026, the airline confirmed to African Pilot.
The 737-800 is currently configured with 175 all-economy seats and is expected to enter commercial service in September 2026.
ValueJet also confirmed that 5N-CFZ is owned by the airline rather than being operated under a lease arrangement.
Three Boeing Aircraft Planned
The 737-800 is the first of three Boeing 737NG aircraft planned for ValueJet’s fleet.

According to the airline, the remaining two aircraft will join the fleet in phases over the coming months after undergoing reconfiguration.
Unlike 5N-CFZ’s current all-economy layout, the two additional aircraft are planned to feature Business, Premium and Economy seating.
ValueJet has not announced specific delivery dates for the remaining aircraft.
The airline said it is currently concentrating on the phased introduction of the three Boeing aircraft and has not announced commitments for any additional aircraft beyond them.
The introduction of the Boeing fleet forms part of ValueJet’s transition from CRJ regional jets to larger aircraft as the airline expands its domestic and regional operations.
More Capacity on Domestic Routes
ValueJet said the Boeing fleet will provide additional capacity on some of its busiest domestic routes, including services involving Lagos,
Abuja and Port Harcourt.
The aircraft will also support the airline’s regional and international expansion as additional Boeing aircraft join the fleet.
ValueJet did not provide specific Boeing route launch dates or frequencies in its response to African Pilot.
Further Regional Expansion Planned
ValueJet confirmed to African Pilot that it plans to expand its network to Libreville, Abidjan, Cotonou and Monrovia, as well as other destinations across Anglophone and Francophone West Africa.
The airline did not provide launch dates or planned frequencies for these routes.
For now, ValueJet’s Boeing programme centres on bringing 5N-CFZ into commercial service in September, followed by the phased introduction of the remaining two 737NG aircraft.
