Boeing Sees Continued Growth Across African Aviation Markets

On the sidelines of the 57th Annual General Assembly of the African Airlines Association (AFRAA), African Pilot Magazine speaks with Shahab Matin, Managing Director of Commercial Marketing for the Middle East and Africa at Boeing, following the release of Boeing’s 2025 Commercial Market Outlook.

Matin outlines Boeing’s view of sustained long-term growth across African aviation markets, highlighting the role of air connectivity in supporting mobility, economic development and Africa’s integration into global air transport networks.

The discussion also covers Boeing’s engagement with African airlines beyond aircraft delivery, including support for maintenance and repair capability, fleet planning, operational readiness, aircraft data and performance insight, the use of artificial intelligence, and near-term priorities around production and certification as airlines plan for future growth.
