The State Department joined Chief Guest Cabinet Secretary for Tourism and Wildlife, Mrs Rabecca Miano, the Safarilink family, and tourism and aviation stakeholders in marking the introduction of a third scheduled service by Safarilink from Wilson Airport to Arusha and back.

The route strengthens ties between Nairobi, East Africa’s business hub, and Arusha, a key diplomatic centre. Just months ago, Safarilink celebrated a multi-destination route linking Kenya’s western circuit to Entebbe via Kisumu. The additional schedule will boost tourism dispersal, trade, and EAC integration by enabling the seamless movement of people, goods, and ideas, thus serving as a bridge for economic growth between Kenya and Tanzania.

The Principal Secretary, Ms Teresia Mbaika, was represented at the event by Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) Managing Director, Mr Moses Wekesa. On her behalf, he congratulated Safarilink on the additional schedule, commending its reputation for reliability and safety and for leading the way in the regional expansion of its route network.

The State Department reaffirms its commitment to reliable infrastructure at JKIA, Wilson, and beyond, fast-tracking upgrades with minimal disruptions. The event was also attended by KTB CEO June Chepkemei, KTF Chairman Fred Odek, KATA CEO Nucor Sabula, and the founding directors of Safarilink, including John Buckley.
