Ethiopian Airlines has announced that it will launch a new direct passenger service between Addis Ababa and Port Louis, Mauritius, from 12 July 2026.
The route will operate three times a week, on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, using the Boeing 737 MAX 8. Flight ET 887 will depart Addis Ababa at 08:50 and arrive in Mauritius at 15:20, while the return flight, ET 886, will depart Port Louis at 16:15 and arrive in Addis Ababa at 20:45.
The airline said the new service forms part of its strategy to strengthen African connectivity, support regional integration and improve links between Southeast Africa and wider international markets. Ethiopian Airlines expects the route to support tourism, trade and business travel, while offering passengers faster and more convenient connections through its Addis Ababa hub.
Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO Mesfin Tasew said the direct service would make it easier for African and international travellers to visit Mauritius, while also enhancing business and trade opportunities. He added that expanding the airline’s African network remains a priority as Ethiopian works to improve connectivity between African countries and the rest of the world.
Before announcing the direct service, Ethiopian Airlines served Mauritius through interline and codeshare partnerships via regional hubs including Johannesburg, Nairobi and Antananarivo.
