His commitment to developing Africa’s culinary sector extends beyond the kitchen. In 2016, he founded ‘Chefs in Africa’, a social enterprise supporting emerging culinary talent, followed by the ‘Culinary Innovation Village’ scholarship programme, which has grown to a community of about 4,000 chefs and received support from the World Tourism Organisation and UNESCO. More recently, he established ‘Meza Malonga’, an integrated farm, culinary centre and restaurant focused on African gastronomy and locally sourced, sustainable products.

His culinary work and efforts in representing the diversity of African cuisines have received recognition from Forbes, Travel + Leisure and the World Tourism Organisation, among others.
