The construction project for the future headquarters of the Cameroon Civil Aviation Authority in Nsimalen continues to make significant progress, according to findings presented during the 4th ordinary session of the Steering Committee for Major Works and Project Monitoring held at the construction site.
The meeting, attended by members of the Steering Committee and senior officials of the CCAA, focused on assessing the progress of this major infrastructure project, which is expected to strengthen Cameroon’s civil aviation administration and operational capacity.
Technical experts representing the project owner, the Ministry of Public Works, Cabinet GA2, Cabinet BISSEK, BCT HYDRAC, LABOGENIE, and the construction company BUNS provided an update on the state of the works. According to the report presented during the session, structural works have reached 95% completion and are expected to be finalised by the end of June 2026. Earthworks currently stand at 65% completion, with completion projected for the end of August 2026.
Committee members also reviewed issues related to project coordination, schedule management, and compliance with contractual timelines. In response to a slight delay in the original implementation schedule, the Steering Committee approved a recovery strategy aimed at accelerating progress. The plan includes speeding up procurement for finishing works and technical installations, as well as reinforcing the workforce deployed on site.
During the inspection visit, officials observed the start of Pouma stone cladding work on the main façade and assessed the condition of the site’s access roads. At the conclusion of the visit, the Steering Committee praised the commitment of the project management teams, technical supervisors, and the construction company responsible for executing the works.
Launched on January 14, 2024, with a planned duration of 42 months, the project is strategically located at the entrance of Yaoundé–Nsimalen International Airport, near the Training School (EFO) and the Air Search and Rescue Center (RSC). Scheduled for delivery in July 2027, the future headquarters is designed to provide a modern working environment for CCAA personnel while reinforcing the institution’s role in ensuring the safety and security of civil aviation in Cameroon.
