Malawi: ADL Appoints Zione Dorothy Themba as Chief Executive Officer

Airports Development Limited (ADL) has announced the appointment of Ms Zione Dorothy Themba as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Ms Themba joins ADL at a pivotal time for the organisation, as it transitions into an airports company and advances its mandate to modernise and expand airport facilities in Malawi.

According to the ADL Board of Directors, Ms Themba brings more than two decades of experience across administration, human resource management, research and development programming, with work spanning Africa and Asia. Her career includes leadership, strategic planning and the coordination of large-scale projects across both the public and private sectors.

ADL described Ms Themba as a people-oriented leader with strategic foresight, results-driven execution and a globally minded approach. Her experience includes human resource management and development, administration, project management, monitoring and evaluation systems, institutional capacity building, development initiatives and international research collaborations.

The Board said it is confident in Ms Themba’s ability to provide strategic direction, strengthen institutional capacity and support the development and management of airports in Malawi.

ADL said it looks forward to a new era of growth and innovation under her leadership as it works with stakeholders to deliver safe and world-class travel experiences.
